Coaches’ Corner 3/8/19  It’s What’s on The Inside That Counts

If you’ve followed our blog, you know that we try and imbue you with all kinds of tips, knowledge and advice to help you reach your health and fitness goals – or, at least we hope! After all, there are a lot of different topics that we feel tie into the fitness journey, which may lie outside of ‘just exercise’ (like philosophy, psychology, existentialism, sociology), that we hope will inspire you to get into the weight room!

However, sometimes, we as humans just need to know what to do so we can go out and do it! Nutrition, as it applies to exercise, is one of these things. So, here are a few quick tips to keep in mind when it comes to knowing what to put into your system, so that you can get the most out of it:

-          Water intake: 0.5-1.0oz per 1lb of body weight (lean towards the higher end of the spectrum if you are a chronic exerciser/active person)

-          Protein intake: 1.0g per 1lb of body weight (more accurately, 1.0-1.4g of protein per pound of Fat Free Mass (FFM), or, the amount of weight that everything in your body, other       than fat, weighs – muscle, bone, organs, water)

-          Vitamin intake: Iron, B-Vitamins, D-Vitamin, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium + Sodium
