Sentinel Performance

Well, we are full-swing into September, and that means it’s time to get back to business! The last quarter of the year is upon us, and therefore it’s the perfect time to take a look at where we’ve come this year, and where we’re going. If the past nine months haven’t gone the way you planned, specifically in the gym, we’re here to right your ship back in the direction you want to go.

A lot of times when we need to start something (or start something back up), the hole that we may have dug ourselves might look too deep to climb out. I think everyone, at one point or another, can relate to this-I know I can! As a result, it might seem too big of a task to get started, and so you never do. It’s at times like these where it’s important to “think small.”

For instance, if you’re finding yourself not going into the gym like you know you should because you don’t know what exercises to do, just do something simple to work the Fab Five! Prisoner squat, Chest press, Seated row, Shoulder press, Pulldowns, Step ups (3setsx15reps) This is a great and easy way to get started and get that ball rolling so that you can eventually build on it over time.

We are all aware of the adage, “you don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” Nowhere is that more true than in the gym! Many times the fear of not being the best right at the beginning precludes us from doing what we need to do to get better than we are right now. And that’s okay! That’s human! However, recognizing this fact is half the battle; doing something about it is what will determine whether you win or lose the war.
